James "Gleddy" Gledhill

James Gledhill is entering his first full season as the Head Coach for the Belhaven University Men’s Soccer Program, and fourth season overall.


A native of Huddersfield, England, Gledhill joins the Blazers' staff following two years as the men’s assistant coach at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. During his tenure with the Owls, Temple boasted a 19-14-2 record including back to back winning seasons and an AAC Conference semi-final appearance. The Owls accomplished 8 All-AAC conference selections including MLS Draft Pick, Jorge Gomez Sanchez. In both years Gledhill helped the team receive NSCAA All-Academic team awards, including Alex Cagle receiving Temple University Scholar Athlete of the year.


Previous to joining Temple, Gledhill spent four years as the head coach at Holmes Community College. During his tenure with the Lady Bulldogs, Gledhill led the team to two runners-up spots in the MACJC North Division Conference.


Prior to his years at Holmes, Gledhill spent three seasons as the assistant coach at Mississippi College. Whilst there the Choctaws were ASC runners-up, nationally ranked for the first time and boasted 11 Academic All-Americans.


In 2005, Gledhill played a professional season with the Wilmington Hammerheads in North Carolina, where he was a leading goal scorer for the team.


In his college career, Gledhill spent three seasons at the University of Mobile where he became a two-time All-American and led the Rams to their first-ever National Championship as a senior in 2002. During the NAIA National Tournament that year, Gledhill was named the Tournament MVP. In his three seasons with the Rams, Gledhill was the top scorer for the team in two of those years.


In 2001, as a junior in college, Gledhill spent one year at Fairfield University. During his season with the Stags, Gledhill set the school record for goals scored in a single season and led the conference in scoring, propelling the Stags to their highest ever NCAA D1 ranking of #12 in the nation.


Gledhill graduated from the University of Mobile with a Bachelor's degree in communications in 2003. In 2008 he obtained his Masters in Applied Communications from Mississippi College.


Currently, Gledhill holds four coaching licenses that include a USSF A License, a UEFA B License, a NSCAA Premier Diploma, and a National Youth License.

Jason Ward

Jason Ward is entering his first season as the assistant coach for the Belhaven University men's soccer program.


He spent three years at the University of Alabama in Huntsville as a graduate assistant coach for the men's soccer team, completing his master's degree in physical education.


The Norwich, England, native played at Bryan College, served as a team captain for three seasons, and achieved AAC All-Conference First Team status.


Ward graduated from Bryan College with a degree in exercise and health science.
