John Mansholt

John Mansholt enters his third season as the Head Coach for Women's Soccer at Blackburn College. Mansholt brings 28 years of coaching experience to Blackburn. Most recently he was the assistant director of athletics for facilities and operations at the University of Texas at Tyler.

Before he became an administrator Mansholt was the Head Men's Soccer Coach at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, from 2015 until 2020. While serving as the men's coach at MacMurray, Mansholt was the long-time girls soccer coach at Jacksonville High School coaching there from 1997 until 2019. Mansholt also served as the Head Men's Coach at Illinois College from 1992-2001.

The Jacksonville, Illinois native played collegiately at Illinois College and Sangamon State University which is now known as the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Gabe Attanasio

Gabe Attanasio enters his third season as an assistant for the women's soccer program. Attanaio is currently employed at the University of Illinois-Springfield in the Financial Aid department.

Before coming to Blackburn, Attanasio was the Head Women`s Soccer Coach at Rockford University from 2020 until 2021. Prior to that time, he served as the Head Women`s Soccer at MacMurray College. Attanasio has previously worked with head coach John Mansholt as an assistant at both MacMurray College from 2015-2016 and also at Jacksonville High School from 2014 until 2019.

A natve of Chicago Heights, Illinois, Attanasio earned his bachelor's degree in History from the University of Illinois-Champaign Urbana and as well as a Master's degree in Teaching from National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois.
