Phillip Borde

Vice President of Athletics Chris Dooley has announced coaching changes for the Brewton-Parker College Women's Soccer program.

Phillip Borde has been tabbed as the Interim Head Coach of the Lady Barons after Head Coach Prince Borde resigned to pursue coaching opportunities elsewhere.

"We're thankful for Prince's time here at Brewton-Parker and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward," Dooley said. "We look forward to the direction that Phillip will take the women's soccer program and we're excited for what is ahead this upcoming season."

Borde has served the program as the assistant coach since the 2018-19 season. In addition, he was added to the men's soccer staff during the 2019 season. Since then, he has split duties between programs and has served as the head recruiter for the women's soccer program.

Last season, Borde helped guide BPC to a 10-10 overall record with a 5-2 conference record. The Lady Barons advanced through postseason play closing out the 2021 campaign in the SSAC Semifinals.

Outside of his collegiate playing career, Alves competed professionally with the Florida Tropics (UPSL) and Peachtree MOBA (USL 2).

"I'm excited to return to Mount Vernon and to begin coaching these great athletes," Alves said. "I would like to thank Coach Borde as well as Mr. Dooley for the opportunity and look forward to assisting Phillip in building something great here."

"We're thrilled to bring back Denish to BPC and to have him on our staff," Coach Borde said. "I look forward to having Denish apply his playing experience to our coaching and for what we are building for the program."

BPC Women's Soccer officially kicks off the regular season on August 30th at Southeastern (Fla.) after competing in a pair of exhibitions. The Lady Barons will take on South Carolina State on August 12 in an exhibition prior to challenging Erskine (S.C.) in an exhibition on August 19.
