Paul Stenglein

Along with creating and continuing to lead the girl's soccer program at Frankenmuth High School over the past 24 years, in 2011 Coach Stenglein was hired to lead the brand new Women's Soccer program at Delta College. He started his college experience here at Delta in the mid-70's and he has felt that this opportunity to coach the Pioneers has been a special blessing. As he says, "It's good to be back home again at Delta." He holds a NSCAA National Coaching License and has coached High School and Travel Teams for over 30 years. After leading these Pioneers to a NJCAA Region 12 Tournament Championship in 2011, 2012, 2017, & 2018 he was honored as the 2011, 2012, 2017, & 2018 NJCAA Regional Coach of the Year.

In 2018, the Pioneers won their first MCCAA Conference Championship and he was again awarded Coach of the Year honors. After the Pioneers finished Runner-up in the National Tournament, the coaching staff was honored with MidWest Region Staff of the Year. He has also been awarded the MHSSCA Division III State Coach of the Year honor in 1998, 2004, and 2011. Stenglein has been happily married to his wife Vicki for over 40 years, and has two children Jeff and Heather, who have been coaching with him for a number of years. His philosophy is to challenge his players to reach their full potential on and off the field. He believes that it is critical for the players to enjoy being involved with his teams so he can get the most from them individually and collectively. He is detail orientated and puts a high regard on mastering core technical skills as well as understanding higher level tactical concepts. His defensive style is extremly high pressure with emphasis on a very free flowing unpredictable attacking unit. I have had a profile on SINC Soccer for 4 years, and it helped me to organize my information so that I was ready when the recruiting process started. I had selected some schools using your site when I was 13 and that helped to start the conversation with those schools and find out about their ID camps, and when UNC made an offer I was prepared.
