David Jackson

Returning to East Texas Baptist University as an assistant coach, David Jackson enters his second year as the full-time assistant for the women's soccer program. During the 2021 Spring Season, he split time between the men's and women's programs coaching before being promoted to the head assistant for the 2021-22 season. He was a former graduate assistant and assistant coach for the ETBU men's soccer program before leaving for a year only to return to help both programs in 2020-21.

“I could not be more excited about bringing David on as a coach," said Cox. “David is a young man of high character, incredible work ethic, and a true passion for the game of soccer. More importantly, he has a strong love for the Christ-Centered athletic programs here at ETBU. David has been extremely dedicated to our family and over the past few years been a key contributor to the success and growth on and off the field of our program. As an alumni and past-coworker, I am thrilled to see David take the next steps in his career and continue his growth and development.”

A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jackson brings years of great experience on the field for the Tigers, which includes playing in 55 matches and leading the team in scoring his senior season while playing through a broken leg. Jackson earned a Bachelor Degree of Science in Kinesiology-Wellness Management in 2017, and will be complete his Master’s in Education for Sports Leadership later in June.

Off the field, Jackson has also served in multiple service events around the community, as well as a mission trip to Nicaragua, as part of the ETBU Tiger Athletic Mission Experience in 2017. David attends New Beginnings Baptist Church in Longview and is married to former ETBU women's soccer player Abbey Sturdivant.

The site was a great resource to sort colleges by my selection criteria, connect with coaches and be a repository for all of my communications. Overall, the best site that I used in my college soccer search.
