Dylan Cassidy

Dylan Cassidy enters his fourth season as the head women's soccer coach after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant.


In the 2021 fall season, he led the Griffins to its second straight SLIAC Regular Season Championship and its first Tournament Championship since 1996. At the NCAA Tournament, the Griffins fell 1-0 at Loras. Fontbonne finished the year 15-3-2 overall and 12-0-2 in conference play.


Coach Cassidy won his second straight SLIAC Coach of the Year award becoming the first coach in program history to do so and just the fourth coach in SLIAC history to win back-to-back Coach of the Year honors. For the second straight year, the Griffins had 10 players make All-Conference with three making First Team. Molly Kovarik became the first player in program history and sixth in SLIAC history to win consecutive SLIAC Player of the Year honors.


In 2021, he guided the Griffins to an 11-1 overall record and a perfect 9-0 in conference play. It was the first time in program history Fontbonne went undefeated in SLIAC games. He became the second coach in program history to win SLIAC Coach of the Year and saw a program record 10 players earn All-Conference honors, including six making First Team.


Prior to Fontbonne, he was the Assistant Coach for the men’s team at the University of Illinois Springfield for the 2017-2018 season.


In Cassidy’s first season as assistant coach, the Prairie Stars went 8-8-1 overall and 8-5-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play which is the highest winning percentage and conference winning percentage since becoming a member of the NCAA Division II. The Prairie Stars made their first appearance in the GLVC tournament in 2017.


Cassidy, a graduate of McKendree University, competed in 28 games with the Bearcats recording 1 goal and 6 assists over two seasons as a defender.


Before McKendree, Cassidy played two seasons at East Central College where he contributed 12 goals and 7 assists and was named First Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference in 2014.


Cassidy played at the PDL level with the St. Louis Lions from 2014-2017 playing in over 40 games for the club.


Cassidy completed his bachelor’s degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sports Psychology from McKendree University. He earned a 3.8 GPA and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.


Dylan is a native of Dublin, Ireland and currently lives in St. Louis.

Donnie Alberty

Donnie Alberty came to Fontbonne University to start the 2017 season from St. Charles Community College, where he served for two seasons as the Head Coach of the Men's Soccer program and had an overall record of 15-21-1. Coach Alberty helped develop one first-team all-region player, four second-team all-region players, three first-team all-conference players and four second-team all-conference players.


Alberty was a standout player at Ritenour High School from 1987-1991 as a four-year varsity player, earning all-conference honors in both his junior and senior seasons. From Ritenour, he went to East Central College, where he was a first-team all-conference and all-region player for both seasons. After East Central, Alberty went on to NAIA Missouri Baptist University where he was a first-team all-conference player and all-region player for both his junior and senior seasons.


Alberty finished his playing career with a total of 47 goals and 22 assists. Upon completion of his playing career, he immediately joined the coaching staff at Missouri Baptist University, serving from 1996-1998. In 1999, Alberty joined the Windsor High School coaching staff where he served as the boy's JV coach and the girls’ varsity head coach. In 2002, Alberty took advantage of a teaching opportunity to go to Logos High School. While at Logos, in addition to teaching social studies, Alberty also served as the head soccer coach and college advisor for all college-bound students. In 2012, he returned to Missouri Baptist University as the first assistant coach for the men's varsity team and the head coach of the reserve team.


Coach Alberty has also coached in numerous clubs in the St. Louis area including St. Louis Select, Club Athletic Premier, Elite F. C. and Metro Strikers and holds a USSF License with plans to earn higher certifications and badges.


Coach Alberty earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Missouri Baptist University in 1997 and has taken several classes towards a Master of Arts in counseling degree. He lives in St. Peters wife Tammy and children, Bryce and Abby.
