Courtney Murdoch

Courtney Murdoch enters her second season as the Women's Soccer Head Coach, hired in May 2023.


Murdoch's resume includes stops in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division III and semi-professional women's soccer. She had her first stint as a head coach at Millsaps College from 2020-2022. Under her guidance, Millsaps had its best record in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) in nearly a decade.


Prior to her first head coaching position, Murdoch was a NCAA Division I assistant. She spent the 2019 season with Texas Southern University, helping mold the Tigers' defensive unit as Texas Southern qualified for the SWAC Tournament thanks to three shutout victories in conference play.


Her first collegiate position was as an assistant at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. As the goalkeeper coach, Murdoch helped mold Julia Schneider into a second team All-America East selection as Schneider led the league in saves, save percentage and saves per game.


Prior to coaching at the collegiate level, Murdoch was involved in various capacities in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), the largest semi-professional women's soccer league in the world. She played, coached, and worked with several teams including the Houston Aces, Fort Worth Panthers and Texas Titans.


Murdoch has extensive coaching experience at the high school and club levels, mentoring youth teams within the Boston Breakers and TUFC (Houston) organizations, as well as college club teams at LSC Cy-Fair and the University of Houston.


The Texas native earned an Associate of Arts degree from Lone Star College Cy-Fair in addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Houston. While at the University of Houston, Murdoch was one of just 40 students selected to the exclusive Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship, regarded as one of the top Entrepreneurship programs in the United States.


Murdoch holds National D, E and F licenses from the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF). She also has Goalkeeping Level 1 and 2 diplomas from United Soccer Coaches (USC).

Braeden Hoppough

Braeden Hoppough enters his first season with LSU Eunice, joining the Bengals in August of 2024. Hoppough servies as the lead assistant for both the men's and women's soccer teams.


Hoppough comes to LSUE after extensive coaching experience in Fairbanks, Alaska, focusing primarily on the club and high school levels. He was most recently an assistant coach at West Valley High School in Fairbanks as well as Eclipse Soccer Club.


Prior to that, he was a volunteer with Alaska Rush Soccer Club for three years and the Director of Coaching at the Alcan Sports Camp for two years.


Hoppough holds a USSF D National D Coaching License. He played collegiately at Colorado State University-Pueblo for four seasons, making eight starts in his final season with ThunderWolves. Following his collegiate career, Hoppough played in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) for five years with Fairbanks Soccer Club.


He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management with an emphasis in marketing from Colorado State University-Pueblo as well as associate degrees in Applied Science in Fire Science and Paramedicine from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
