Ryan Huber

Coach Ryan Huber enters his fourth season as the Head Men's Soccer Coach after joining the Pacers in the summer of 2017.

Previous Coaching Experience

Prior to his position at WPU, Huber was the assistant coach at N.C. Wesleyan College, a fellow USA South team. Since 2011, Huber worked as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Goalkeeper Coach, and Head Reserve Team Coach. NCWC Men's Soccer finished in the top 4 in the conference five out of the six years Huber was on the coaching staff.

Along with coaching at N.C. Wesleyan, Huber also served as Director of Coaching (2016), Assistant Director of Coaching (2015-2016), U-13 Boys Head Coach (2016), U-12 Boys Head Coach (2015-2016), and U-14 Boys Head Coach (2015) at the Tar River Youth Soccer Association. There, Huber was responsible for the overall development of the club including: staff recruitment, staff development, coaching philosophy, playing philosophy, player recruitment, and player development.

Before coaching at N.C. Wesleyan, Huber was the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Louisburg College from 2008-2011. During his time at Louisburg, the team was ranked as high as #4 in the nation for junior colleges. Prior to Louisburg, Huber spent one season on the sidelines as an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Guilford College in 2008 where he also started a club soccer program at the college.


Coach Huber obtained his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management in 2008 and later on went on to earn his Masters in Sports Management and Athletic Administration from Liberty University in 2014.

Additional Information

Huber has worked several high profile camps at NC Wesleyan College, University of South Carolina, University of North Carolina, Duke University, Wake Forest University, Hampden Sydney College, Randolph Macon College, Mary Washington University, Louisburg College, University of Mount Olive, and Capital Area Soccer League.

Oswaldo Peralta

Coach Peralta enters his fourth year as an assistant coach for the Pacers. Peralta graduated from WPU in 2017 with a B.S. in Business Administration, and was a member of the WPU soccer team from 2015-2017. Coach Peralta served as the Associate Head Coach at Louisburg High School for two seasons from 2013-2014 prior to coming to William Peace. Coach Peralta has coached at several soccer camps including Mt. Olive, Top Drawer Soccer, NC State University, Duke University ,among various camps in Louisburg, NC. Along with this Coach Peralta coaches for Neuse River Futbol Association at the classic level.

Peralta was hired as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in 2017, and in the fall of 2019 he was promoted to the position of Director of Athletic Communications.

Christian Ortiz

Coach Ortiz enters year number two with the Pacer’s staff after spending last year as a student assistant.

Ortiz brings a plethora of experience as a player. Ortiz spent two years at NCAA DII powerhouse Limestone College where he won the conference carolinas and then went on to compete in the NCAA tournament in both 2014 and 2015 where they managed to make it into the third round of the national tournament.

In 2016 Christian made his debut for WPU where he proved of making an immediate impact for the pacers. In his first season Christian managed to finish as the number 1 keeper in the conference with the highest save percentage (.801) and also managed to tally over 100 saves. Christian came into his final season at WPU with a new role. Christian was a captain of the Pacers and remained as one of the best goalkeepers in the conference.

Outside of college soccer Christian played for semi-pro side WV Chaos where they managed to finish third in one of the most competitive PDL conferences (Great Lakes Conference) and managed to qualify for the US Open cup. Christian also had the opportunity to play for pro side Charlotte Independence over the summer where he spent much time training with the keepers, but also along side with the coaches to get a new perspective.

Although Christian is a newcomer to the WPU sideline, he is not a stranger to coaching.

Christian has spent time coaching with a club back in his hometown of Concord NC coaching at the academy level at CSC (Cabarrus Soccer Club) where he primarily focused dealing with goalkeepers and older kids Christian also shared time training the goalkeepers at UPSL side Broncos FC NC.
