A native of Nicholasville, Ky., Perkins is a graduate of West Jessamine High School and Asbury University.

During her All-State playing days at West Jessamine, Perkins helped her team win three district championships and three regional titles, which produce three Sweet 16, one Elite Eight and one Final Four appearance.

At Asbury, Perkins finished as the all-time winningest goalkeeper in the progam's history.

As a sophomore in 2015, she earned four Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week awards en route to a spot on the All-KIAC First Team.

Perkins was also named to the All-River States Conference Second Team in both 2016 and 2017 after the league changed its name and led the Eagles to the 2017 RSC Tournament Championship.

Perkins also coached at Asbury for two seasons following the conclusion of her playing career and helped the Eagles claim a River States Conference championship in 2018 and a runner-up showing in 2019.

She comes to Rio Grande after spending the past three seasons at Belhaven (Miss.) University, where she coached the Collegiate Conference of the South Goalkeeper of the Year.
