Puma Kings Cup - GirlsThe William Peace University's women’s soccer program wants to recruit you. WPU is looking for 6-8 players each year for the Women's Soccer program. We want 6-8 young ladies that want to grow academically, socially, and athletically. We want players that want to work hard, play hard, and are goal oriented. WPU is a small Division 3 liberal arts college in downtown Raleigh, NC that offers soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross country, tennis and softball to its female students. Beginning in the fall of 2012 Peace became a coeducational institution admitting men for the first time to its traditional day / residential program. It is an exciting time for the school so we hope you can be a part of it. We currently play in the NCAA Division 3 USA South Athletic Conference which consists of schools in Alabama, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee and NC. Like all D3 schools, we do not have athletic scholarships available for student athletes but WPU does have a very aggressive academic scholarship program that is weighted based on a student athlete's high school GPA and SAT / ACT score. In addition, a student athlete can apply for Financial Aid as with other schools. I am looking for student athletes that are still wanting to play soccer after high school that may be getting passed up by the D1, D2 or NAIA schools. We are looking for players who are committed, who care about each other and most importantly, those that want to succeed. If you commit to William Peace University, I can guarantee that every player coming in will have an equal shot of starting and playing right away. This may not be the case for other programs that may be recruiting you. However, with our program, if I have first year players that can make a difference, they're going to be the players that start and play. We are currently recruiting for our 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 classes. We think you could make a huge difference for us so that means that there is a Peace Pacer jersey waiting for you in the future! I know you may have offers from other schools so you'll have a tough decision to make. We encourage you to make the decision that is best for you and your family as this is a tremendously important decision. If you haven't made a commitment yet, we'd just throw these things out for you to consider: 1. Will you be able to make an impact right away at another school. If not, come to WPU where you will be able to make an impact right away. 2. Will you have an opportunity to start right away at another school. If not, come to WPU where you will have the opportunity to start right away. 3. If you don't start, will you have an opportunity to play considerable minutes at another school. If not, come to WPU where all players have that opportunity from day one. 4. Will you be a part of a roster of 26-30 players with little to no chance to play at another school. If you are part of a 30 person roster, where are you on the depth chart? 30 players is almost 3 full teams. Come to WPU where our smaller roster of 22-24 players will allow each player to challenge for playing time right away. 5. Are you being offered the chance to "walk on" at the schools you are looking to play? If so, have you considered what this really means? Walk On players very rarely make the team. Essentially you are being asked to try out for the school. If the school already has its team set, your chances of walking on may be slim. At WPU, we’ll be upfront with you from the beginning and tell you whether you are on our squad or would have to try out. 6. Will your class environment be one that you are only a number in a large crowd or will you have a small class environment where your voice will be heard. WPU has an 11:1 student to faculty ratio. Our professors will know your name! 7. Will you be able to make a difference in your campus community. Our student athletes are involved in clubs, intramurals, student government, and other activities. You are not just a soccer player but are a student athlete. 8. Does being a student athlete help you later in life? Yes, student athlete’s typically have higher GPA’s compared to the All Campus Average. How? Because you have a network of teammates, coaches, and administrators who are there to support and guide you in your intercollegiate journey. If you answered No to questions 1-3 or Yes to question 4 or 5, then come play at WPU where you can have the opportunity to make an impact right away, play right away and start right away! So the decision is now in your hands and we hope that you will choose to pull on a WPU Pacer jersey and start to make an impact in our program! The very first step in our recruiting process is to fill out a recruiting profile at www.gopeacepacers.org. The next step is to schedule an official visit to campus. We recommend that you schedule a visit as soon as you can. You can do this online at https://wpeaceu.wufoo.com/forms/visit-william-peace-university/. When you schedule your visit, you’ll be able to request time to meet with myself as well. There are upcoming open houses which are a great way to tour the campus. Finally, if you can send us your spring schedule, we will want to see you play again when we can. We look forward to talking with you about playing in the future and as I started out my email, WE WANT YOU. Feel free to contact me at any time. We are recruiting for all positions and are in definite need for goalkeepers. We look forward to meeting you soon. Please call or email me with any questions. The site was a great resource to sort colleges by my selection criteria, connect with coaches and be a repository for all of my communications. Overall, the best site that I used in my college soccer search.
