All -
As you may know, the older age groups (starting with u10) play in a tournament at the end of the season starting on June 4th. That leaves us out in the cold. To have a little bit more fun though, some of the club reps have suggested organizing our own little u8 tournament at the end of the season.
I've heard from UT, and the UT Jets from u8A are not interested in playing, so the proposal right now is to offer a chance to play to the 'top' teams at the upper end of the divisions through u8C -
u8A - Crown Point Thunder, Munster Wizards, Valpo Wolves, and Valpo Thunder
u8B - Crown Point Fireballz, Hobart Renegades
u8C - Valpo Gladiators, Munster Strikers
We're checking to see who is interested. From there, we can figure out how best to get them playing and how much the cost would be. However, if all 8 play, then I think we'd do pool play where each pool would have 2 u8A teams and 1 team from each of the u8B and u8C groups. If not, we'd just reduce the teams in the pool from there. Top 2 teams in a pool advance to semis (using same tiebreakers used for NWISL), and the two winners play in the final.
If you can let me know if you would be interested and available, that would be fantastic. If possible, I'd like to get commitments next week so we can figure out the money issues, venue(s), etc... I don't imagine it would cost more than $5 to $10 per player, but would probably be on the lower end of scale.
